Greece Ready to Support De-escalation of Conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh
Greece has condemned the human losses and announced its readiness to support efforts to ease tensions in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its Twitter page following a phone conversation on Tuesday evening between Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.
“During the telephone conversation with Armenian Foreign Minister Mnatsakanyan, the strong friendly ties between Greece and Armenia were reaffirmed. Dendias condemned the human losses and expressed his willingness to support efforts directed at the immediate de-escalation in Nagorno-Karabakh,” the statement indicated.
Previously, a statement from Greece’s Foreign Ministry noted that Greece views the rising tensions in the Nagorno-Karabakh region with special concern and calls on “all sides to exercise restraint, to immediately cease military operations, and to return to the negotiating table within the framework of the Minsk Group.”
