Evidence in Syria Suggests Turkey Sent Militants to Azerbaijan

Turkish intelligence services have reportedly begun preparing militants in northern Syria since August to later transfer them to Azerbaijan. According to Sputnik-Armenia, this information was shared in an interview with RIА Novosti by the head of the Syrian Human Rights Network, Ahmad Kazem.

The Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs had previously stated that there was information indicating Turkey was transporting militants to Azerbaijan. The Syrian human rights defender noted that he and his colleagues had informed the relevant bodies about the preparation of armed groups back on August 5.

“Turkish intelligence services have started covertly transporting militants from the 'Sultan Murad' group using cargo planes, disguising them as Turkish soldiers who are supposedly participating in exercises,” Kazem said in an interview with the agency.

The Syrian human rights defender emphasized that his organization is again calling on the international community and the UN Security Council to exert pressure on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to cease the transfer of Syrian militants to countries like Azerbaijan and Libya, as such actions threaten international stability.
