Azerbaijan's Aggression Against Artsakh Has 2 Distinct Features: Naghdalyan
Our entire diplomatic service is operating in emergency mode. Yesterday, the Foreign Minister had phone conversations with about 20 counterparts, while the Prime Minister also conducted talks with international partners at his level. This was reported to journalists during a briefing by the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry, Anna Naghdalyan.
Naghdalyan emphasized that these phone conversations should not be viewed as one-off actions. “They are ongoing connections with representatives of the entire international community to present both the situation on the ground and the steps being taken toward destabilizing the region due to Azerbaijani aggression, as well as the associated dangers,” she stated.
She noted that there is currently unequivocal and unconditional support from the international community, condemning the use of force and efforts aimed at disrupting peace and stability in the region. “Facing the international community's unequivocal stance condemning the use of force, official Baku began to resort to its traditional toolkit, namely spreading false information. This is not the first time we are confronted with this toolkit; it is a normal occurrence, and its main problem is that official Baku faced a unilateral condemnation from the international community stating that it must cease military operations and refrain from the use of force,” Naghdalyan added.
The spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry stated that the Armenian side possesses factual, irrefutable evidence regarding which side initiated hostilities. “I want to note that for years, often in a blatantly aggressive manner, Azerbaijan has violated the trilateral agreements of 1994-95, which established the ceasefire, and refused to implement the mechanisms for investigating ceasefire violations proposed by the co-chairs of the Minsk Group, which were accepted by Armenia and Artsakh. In essence, Azerbaijan has demonstrated that all its actions until now have been aimed at disguising such acts of aggression and preparing the ground for them. It has always had plans to initiate war,” she remarked.
Naghdalyan indicated that Azerbaijan's aggression towards Artsakh has two features. “Firstly, there has been a public refusal at the level of the President of Azerbaijan regarding the peace process, and the issue has been set to be resolved through military means; secondly, this time we are dealing with the direct political and military support of Turkey to Azerbaijan.”
According to Anna Naghdalyan, Turkey’s support for Azerbaijan is characterized by the Turkish military presence on the ground. “Turkish experts are fighting alongside Azerbaijanis, utilizing Turkish weapons such as drones and aircraft. We also have information about the recruitment of foreign terrorists from certain areas of the Middle East by Turkey and their transfer to Azerbaijan,” she highlighted.
The spokesperson emphasized that all these circumstances are compounded by the full political and propaganda support provided by the Turkish leadership to Azerbaijan. “All this allows us to say that this time the people of Artsakh are fighting against the Turkish-Azerbaijani alliance. Nearly 100 years ago, Turkey eliminated the Armenian people in their historical homeland, and now it seems to encourage Azerbaijan to carry out the same genocidal actions against the Armenian people in the South Caucasus,” Naghdalyan stated.
She also mentioned that the capabilities and readiness of Artsakh and Armenia to counter this alliance are unwavering. “That determination has no alternative; we are talking about the security and life of the Armenian people in their historical homeland.”
