Artak Beglaryan Visits Civilian Victims of Azerbaijani Aggression
The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Artsakh, Artak Beglaryan, visited on September 28 the medical facilities in Stepanakert where civilians injured due to Azerbaijani aggression are recovering.
The Human Rights Defender examined the circumstances of the injuries, inquired about the health conditions and needs of the treated individuals, and reaffirmed that all tools available under the mandate of the Defender will be applied for the restoration of the violated rights of those affected by military actions.
He also visited a pregnant woman injured in the military operations and assured that there is no danger to the lives of the mother and child. He emphasized that all injured individuals should be under the special care of the state.
Artak Beglaryan strongly condemned the targeted attacks by Azerbaijan on the civilian settlements and infrastructure of Artsakh, describing them as gross violations of international humanitarian law. The Defender emphasized that these acts are further manifestations of the policy of hatred towards Armenians pursued by Azerbaijan, and that the international community also bears a share of responsibility in preventing such actions and providing proper assessments.
