The frontman of System of a Down, Serj Tankian, has addressed the situation on the front lines of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict.

“It is clear that Azerbaijan's corrupt oil-oligarchic leadership had planned this attack on Nagorno-Karabakh for some time. There have been warning signs from the importation of militants from Syria by Turkey to the last warnings from the U.S. State Department's embassy. This is a premeditated military crime committed against peaceful civilians in the streets of the capital of Artsakh. Meanwhile, Azerbaijan has shut down the entire internet, except Twitter, to spread misinformation. These dirty oil oligarchs are afraid of their own people, which is why they start wars; it’s not an original idea. On the other hand, there is advanced democracy in Armenia, thanks to the peaceful Velvet Revolution of 2018. It is time for a revolution in Baku. Only then will peace be achieved between these two nations,” he wrote on his Facebook page.
