Nikol Pashinyan Had a Phone Conversation with Emmanuel Macron

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had a phone conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron. The Prime Minister reported that Azerbaijan has launched military operations along the entire length of the contact line with Artsakh today. He expressed deep concern about the current situation and the potential for further escalation.

It was particularly emphasized that Azerbaijan is resorting to provocations in order to start military operations against the Republic of Armenia at the state border as well. The Prime Minister drew his interlocutor’s attention to the need to address Turkey's highly biased and aggressive stance, as well as the necessity of preventing any possible intervention from that country.

President Macron expressed deep concern regarding the current situation and deemed the further escalation of tensions unacceptable. He stressed the importance of taking all necessary measures to cease military operations and de-escalate tensions. He also emphasized the need to activate the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs to restore peace in the region.
