I Interrupt My Visit to Italy and Return to the Homeland Immediately: Karekin II

Karekin II, the Catholicos of All Armenians, has issued a statement.

“Today, early in the morning, Azerbaijani armed forces once again violated the ceasefire and launched an attack across the entire line of contact, shelling the peaceful settlements of Artsakh, including the capital, Stepanakert. Our homeland, Artsakh, once again calls us all to defend our nation’s rights, our sacred land, our future, and our national dignity. We urge our people to unity and all political forces to subordinate their contradictions in the name of the needs of Homeland defense.

At this moment, being in Italy where we were supposed to meet with our beloved brother, His Holiness Pope Francis, we are interrupting this visit and returning to the Homeland immediately.”
