Human Rights Defender Appeals to International Organizations on Artsakh Issue
The Human Rights Defender has appealed to international human rights organizations, urging them to take action and redirect efforts to prevent the military aggression and violence directed against the peacefulness and safety of the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh. This was reported on the Facebook page of the RA Human Rights Defender.
In the Defender's letters, it was emphasized that schools, homes, and other civilian objects are under indiscriminate attack, posing a real danger to the lives and health of women, children, and the entire population of Nagorno-Karabakh. According to Arman Tatoyan, the targeted armed attacks by Azerbaijan against the civilian population of Artsakh are absolute violations of the Geneva Conventions and international humanitarian customary law.
It is noted that the Armenian Human Rights Defender carries out his activities in these matters based on his mandate for the protection of human rights and the internationally recognized principles for the protection of human rights in conflict situations.
The Armenian Human Rights Defender is in constant communication with the Human Rights Defender of Artsakh.
