Protesters Arrested in Minsk
Several people have been detained during an unauthorized protest at Komarovka Market in Minsk. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the police department of the Belarusian capital.
"Several individuals have been taken into custody for violating legislation on public events. Before the arrests, the police repeatedly warned those gathered about the illegality of their actions," the source told RIA Novosti.
According to reports, at least three women have been detained, including 73-year-old Nina Baginskaya.
The opposition in Belarus has planned another "women's march" in Minsk for September 26. The event was set to begin at Victory Square, but just an hour before the rally, the metro near the square was closed, and some Telegram channels suggested going to Komarovka Market to "confuse" the police.
