Good News on Visa Liberalization Expected After the Pandemic Ends: 'People's Daily'
'People's Daily' reports: 'On September 28, the National Assembly's Permanent Committee on European Integration will hold a meeting to discuss the implementation process of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU.
'People's Daily' sought to clarify the current status of the agreement's implementation ahead of the discussion. Arman Yeghoyan, the Chairman of the Permanent Committee on European Integration, informed 'People's Daily' that the ratification process of the agreement is nearing completion.
'At this moment, there remains one country that has yet to ratify the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU. That country is Portugal; however, the agreement is already before its parliament, and I believe it will be ratified by the end of the year,' Yeghoyan stated.
However, the issue of visa liberalization remains suspended, partly due to the coronavirus pandemic. 'Last year, we had disagreements from 1-2 partner countries, and we are working on that, taking into account the overall changes related to the pandemic, which I believe will generally affect the policy on managing migration flows. But I believe we will have good news after the pandemic ends,' the lawmaker added.
