Alexei Navalny Describes Actions of Unknown Individuals Who Contributed to His Rescue
Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny, who was recently discharged from the Berlin's Charité hospital, has made a new post on his Facebook page, expressing gratitude to the unknown individuals who contributed to his rescue.
"It is rare to have very important people in your life, yet not know their names. In my case, it is just that. I want to start writing about some of them who played a critical role in my fate, even though I don’t know how to address them. As far as I know, according to one theory, the assassins' plan was such that I was supposed to worsen 20 minutes after the flight, and 15 minutes later I would be disconnected. Medical help would have been unavailable, and an hour later I would end up in a black plastic bag.
This is how it would have gone, if not for the chain of happy coincidences and the decisive actions of unknown good people. First, the pilots made a rapid landing in Omsk, despite the announcement about the 'mining' of the airport. Second, the airport medical staff and those who followed made no false claims about diabetes or anything else; they clearly stated right away, 'This is poisoning,' and administered atropine to me. This means that the doctors gifted me an additional 15-20 hours of life.
What happened next was very touching, and I will tell about it separately, but there would be nothing to tell if these people hadn’t been there. Thank you to the unknown good people," wrote Navalny.
It is worth noting that Navalny was transported by plane from Omsk to Berlin while in a coma on August 22. German doctors found traces of a nerve agent from the Novichok group in his system.
