Baku Refines Sergei Lavrov's Statements from Its Own Comments

Following the statement by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, regarding the incorrect interpretation of the words of Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the press service of the Azerbaijani Parliament has made changes to the previously published text of the report on the meeting between the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry and the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova.

In the revised version, it is noted: "Sergei Lavrov stated regarding the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh that Russia, as a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, supports the resolution of the issue and spares no effort in this area." Additionally, sentences attributed to the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament have appeared.

It is recalled that reports in Azerbaijani media claimed that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov asserted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is obstructing the resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and that Russia supports the "return of the occupied 5 regions, the deployment of peacekeepers in the area, and the restoration of transport links." According to Baku media outlets, the head of Russia's foreign policy agency made such statements during a meeting with the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament, Sahiba Gafarova.
