23-Year-Old Resident Stabs Neighbor in Hrazdis

On September 21, 2020, at 19:10, a 23-year-old resident of Hrazdis village in the Syunik province called the Armenian police to report that a person had been stabbed in the village.

On the same day, at 20:00, a report was received from the Goris Medical Center regarding a 33-year-old resident of Hrazdis who sought medical assistance for a "penetrating wound to the right hemithorax."

Based on the investigation initiated by the Goris investigative department of the Syunik regional investigative administration regarding the incident, it was established that the 23-year-old resident had, on September 21, 2020, around 18:40, inflicted bodily harm with a knife to a 33-year-old neighbor during a personal dispute on a section of road in front of his house, intentionally causing severe bodily injury that posed a danger to life.

Based on the evidence collected, the young man has been charged under part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (intentionally causing serious harm to health). The investigator has filed a motion to the court to apply detention as a measure of restraint.

A series of investigative actions have been conducted, including the examination of the crime scene, the discovery and seizure of the knife used in the crime, the appointment of forensic medical and genetic examinations, and the questioning of several individuals. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
