Three employees of the 'Children's Home' in Yerevan have been charged with causing physical and psychological pain to minors by a group of individuals or an organized group (under Article 119, Part 2, Points 3 and 5 of the Criminal Code of Armenia).

According to the court's decision, they have been remanded in custody as a preventive measure. In response to a question from 'Armenian Time', Rimma Yeganyan, acting head of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee, provided this information.

According to the police, the employees of the children's home subjected the residents to violence, torturing, beating, and humiliating them. “It has been revealed that the children were deprived of minimal living conditions and personal hygiene means for a long time. In addition, the staff of the children's home struck the minors with a stick and their hands on various pretexts, pulling their hair, causing them physical pain and mental suffering,” the police stated in a report released yesterday.

The Investigative Committee also indicated that during the preliminary investigation, a number of investigative actions have been conducted, including interrogations. A forensic examination has been appointed.
