Eurasian Intergovernmental Council Meeting to be Held in Yerevan

From October 8 to 9, Yerevan will host the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has signed a decision assigning the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia and the Head of the State Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to ensure the proper level of organizational work for the meeting, prepare the agenda, and ensure the implementation of the events outlined in the program, as well as accommodating the members of the official delegation in a hotel and providing them with meals.

The Prime Minister has instructed the Minister of Emergency Situations to ensure round-the-clock vigilance of the rescue service at the venue of the event, while the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia has been tasked with enforcing anti-epidemic rules and sanitary conditions at the venue, including temperature checks for all participants and, if necessary, testing participants, personnel involved in organizational work, and service sector employees by PCR method, ensuring the presence of emergency medical teams, operational functioning of medical points, and medical assistance to and servicing of participants during their stay in the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the application submitted by the Prime Minister’s Office and the State Protocol Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Nikol Pashinyan has assigned the responsibilities of the Director of the State Protection Service of the Republic of Armenia to ensure the safety of guests during their stay in the Republic, while the Chief of Police has been instructed to maintain public order at the locations associated with the meeting.

The meeting will take place at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. Earlier, Russia's Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin received an invitation to attend the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council. The Russian government announced that Mishustin's visit to Armenia would depend on the epidemiological situation.
