The Name of the Main Prize Winner of the 'Hero of Our Time' Award Ceremony is Revealed

As part of the events dedicated to the 29th anniversary of the Republic of Armenia's independence, Sevak Markosyan, the founder of the toy manufacturing company 'Markos toys', was awarded the main prize of the 'Hero of Our Time' award ceremony held at the Zvartnots Cathedral. The award was presented by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

“It is evident that a very significant event has appeared in the calendar of this year, in the form of the 'Hero of Our Time' award ceremony. I am now confident that we all will be looking forward to this day every year to celebrate the heroes of our time. Today's event started with the emphasis that the true heroes of this year are our soldiers and doctors. It is very symbolic that this year, on my initiative and under the decrees of the President of the Republic, Captain Ruben Sanamyan of the Armed Forces and the award-winning doctor Hrayr Hovakimyan were granted the title of National Hero of the Republic of Armenia. Through this, the essence of this year has truly come full circle. We celebrate the heroes of our time; through that, we glorify the creative potential of a person and a citizen,” said Nikol Pashinyan, as reported by Armenpress.

The Prime Minister noted that many heroes at the award ceremony deserve the main prize, but today it is awarded to Sevak Markosyan, the founder of 'Markos toys'. Nikol Pashinyan noted that by receiving their awards, the heroes express gratitude to the government. In reality, the government is thankful to these people because they prove through their activities that what is said is possible and real.

“We are talking about the pivotal importance of individual effort. We are talking about the fact that every person can shape their environment and well-being. Of course, the role of the government is crucial, and the government must encourage the heroes of our time. Everyone deserves the main prize, but we thought about what characteristic the main prize winner should have. I believe that this characteristic is as follows: our main hero has shown remarkable persistence in the quest to change his life. He has decided to follow the path of creative happiness and has chosen to create toys for children—such toys that will teach them to build, create, and innovate,” added the Prime Minister.

Speaking about his activities, Sevak Markosyan noted that the toys he created are not just to teach children to build but also to remind little Armenians outside of Armenia about their homeland. “For me, the heroes are those who have paved the way for independence, who have dedicated their lives to our Motherland, for the current borders of our two independent states. Heroes are all those who keep our borders unyielding. We are merely providing support, and we will spare no effort and zeal to keep that support as strong as possible,” said Sevak Markosyan.

Within the framework of the 'Hero of Our Time' award ceremony, citizens who have established their businesses with their own efforts, linking their future to Armenia, are valued and honored.
