Parliament's Agenda Includes Amendments to Social Assistance Legislation
The Parliament has convened an extraordinary session today, with the agenda including a question regarding amendments to the social assistance legislation.
The issue was presented in the legislature by Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Anna Jamkochyan, who noted that the urgency of the draft is dictated by the upcoming enforcement of amendments to the Social Assistance Law, the Local Self-Government Law, laws pertaining to local self-government in Yerevan, and changes to the Family Code of the Republic of Armenia. “These laws will enter into force on September 23. Problems have been identified during the discussions of sub-legal acts aimed at ensuring the implementation of this law, particularly concerning the structure of the body established by this law, the filling of its positions, and the smooth and uninterrupted execution of the intended structural changes. Therefore, it has become necessary to amend these laws,” she said.
