Armenian Soldiers Participate in Opening Ceremony of Caucasus-2020 Exercises
On September 19, a ceremonial opening and raising of the state flags of participating countries for the "Caucasus-2020" strategic command-staff exercises were held at the "Kapustin Yar" training ground of the Russian Armed Forces. The Ministry of Defense notes that a unit from the Armenian Armed Forces also participated in the ceremony.
From September 21 to 26, the exercises will include scenarios for countering terrorist activities and executing joint operations. Approximately 80,000 servicemen are involved in the "Caucasus-2020" strategic command-staff exercises, including combat, support, and technical maintenance units, as well as air defense, naval forces, and special troops.
The exercises will include up to 250 tanks, up to 450 infantry fighting vehicles and armored vehicles, and up to 200 artillery and multiple launch rocket systems.
