VIDEO: Subway Train Derails in New York, 135 Evacuated
A subway train in New York derailed after hitting an object that had been thrown onto the tracks, according to a report by msn.com referencing the country’s emergency services.
The incident occurred on Sunday morning in the Chelsea district of Manhattan. Following the accident, around 135 people were evacuated from the transportation vehicle, with no information on any injuries reported. It has been noted that the individual who threw debris onto the tracks has been arrested.
“The northbound train collided with debris on the road near the entrance of the 14St-8th Av station, causing the train's wheel to derail,” stated Sarah Feinberg, the interim head of the New York City Transit Authority.
