Prime Minister: Sadly, I must note that there has been no such strategy for the past 30 years
Sadly, I must note that at least at the state level, there has been no such strategy for the last 30 years. This may explain many of our current issues. This was stated today, September 21, by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during the presentation of Armenia's Transformation Strategy until 2050.
"I would like to condense the practical significance of the strategy and bring it down to a one-day timeframe. Imagine compressing 30 years into our day. We wake up in the morning and do not know what to do. In such a case, we will remain in the same place and find ourselves in a situation of stagnation. Therefore, a 30-year strategy is crucial for understanding where we are headed and what you envision Armenia to be in 2050. It is very important to note that the strategy must have practical significance. The strategy has an idea, it has a vision, and it has action. If we try to localize this structure within a one-day timeframe, I want to show its practical manifestation in our meeting today.
A few days ago, you were offered the idea of attending the presentation of the strategy. If that idea had not been proposed, none of you would be present today," he said.
Pashinyan announced that from this moment on, any action and decision by the government must be aimed at realizing this idea and vision. He noted that presenting a strategy until 2050 does not mean that this government will remain until 2050. "Of course not, because we understand this strategy not only as an action of any government but as a nationwide movement, where, of course, state leadership has a significant role, and professional circles must be involved, and this strategy must belong to the people. This is an ambition based on vision, not a predictable obligation and plan. Thus, we are vocalizing our ambition, which can be vividly characterized as a dream. This is not only about changes in the public administration system, but this change must take place deeply within all of us, in our minds, in our attitudes. We hope that as a result of these changes, we can achieve leapfrog development," he said.
