Levon Aronian Shares 4th-5th Place in Online Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournament, Wins Significant Cash Prize

The Saint Louis Rapid and Blitz 2020 online chess tournament has concluded. Late yesterday evening, the lightning chess rounds 9-18 were held. Levon Aronian had a commendable performance, achieving 4 victories, drawing 4 games, and suffering 1 loss.

In the final standings, Aronian earned 18.5 points out of a possible 36, sharing the 4th-5th places with Alexander Grischuk. As a result, Aronian was awarded a cash prize of $27,500.

The tournament winners were Magnus Carlsen and Wesley So, who both scored 24 points and received $45,000 each. Hikaru Nakamura took third place with 21 points and a cash prize of $35,000.
