New Changes Implemented in Georgia

New measures have come into effect in Georgia regarding the prevention of the spread of coronavirus as of September 15. Here, we highlight three of them:

Quarantine Period Reduced
As of today, the quarantine period in Georgia has been reduced. Specifically, it was previously set at 12 days, and now it will be 8 days. This decision was made by the interagency council a few days ago.

School Year Begins Online in Major Cities
The 2020-21 school year in Georgia has commenced on September 15, but it will be conducted in remote mode until October 1 in major cities such as Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Gori, Zugdidi, and Batumi. According to the Georgian government, in-class learning will resume in classrooms from October 1.

Foreigners Must Present PCR Test Results to Enter Georgia
Citizens from countries with which Georgia has opened its borders without conditions must now present PCR test results upon entering the country. This decision was made by the Georgian government a few days ago. Specifically, starting today, foreigners crossing the country's borders must provide results from a PCR test conducted within the last 72 hours.
