Video: Vardenis Residents Blocked Artsakh-Armenia Interstate Road; MP Issues Appeal

MP Taguhi Tovmasyan writes on her Facebook page: “Earlier today, I received information that a group of residents from Vardenis had blocked the court building following a court session at the Vardenis First Instance Court and subsequently closed the Vardenis-Yerevan interstate road. They are demanding justice, fair trial, and a meeting with the Gegharkunik Regional Prosecutor.

Throughout the day, I have been in contact with our compatriots who have blocked the road to clarify their grievances and to assist with legal options. Dear Vardenis residents, even though the case is in the trial phase and the prosecutor's functions are almost complete, the Gegharkunik Regional Prosecutor is ready to meet with the citizens.

I inform you that tomorrow you will have a meeting with the Gegharkunik Regional Prosecutor along with a few representatives; he is willing to meet with the complainants' representatives to discuss their grievances and demands regarding the implementation of a fair trial. Therefore, I urge you to open the road now and allow free movement of people.”
