Aronian Starts with a Draw in CHAMPIONS SHOWDOWN: CHESS 9LX Tournament

Armenian chess star Levon Aronian began his campaign in the 2020 CHAMPIONS SHOWDOWN: CHESS 9LX tournament. According to 'Armenpress', in the opening round of the tournament, Aronian faced off against American representative Fabiano Caruana. The Armenian grandmaster played with the white pieces. After 69 moves, the two players agreed to split the point.

In the second round, Aronian will compete against Hikaru Nakamura.

The Champions Showdown Chess 9LX tournament features renowned players including Garry Kasparov, world champion Magnus Carlsen, Levon Aronian, Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Wesley So, and several other chess masters. The tournament has a prize fund of $150,000 and will conclude on September 19.
