Limitations on Weddings, Birthdays, and Funerals in Georgia
In Georgia, following an increase in COVID-19 cases, the inter-agency council operating within the government has made several restrictive decisions, two of which come into effect today. This was reported by AliQ Media.
As of September 10, the celebration of births, weddings, funerals, and other ceremonial events in Georgia has been prohibited. The ban applies to events held in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
It should be noted that according to the government's clarification, marriage itself is not prohibited as an event, and the restrictions will only apply to the celebratory aspect of the event. Specifically, the number of participants in weddings should not exceed 10 individuals. The number of attendees at birthday celebrations, funerals, and other social events should also be a maximum of 10 people.
The second restriction that comes into effect today is the ban on sports and cultural events in outdoor spaces. According to the Georgian government's decision, holding sports and cultural events with over 200 participants in outdoor settings is now prohibited.
According to the government statement, appropriate sanctions will apply for non-compliance with the regulations, and it is essential for the public to demonstrate high civic responsibility.
