Georgia Bans Weddings and Funerals

The Interagency Coordinating Council for COVID-19 under the Prime Minister of Georgia has prohibited weddings, anniversaries, memorials, and other similar events due to a sharp increase in coronavirus cases in the country. This was reported by "gazeta.ru" citing a statement from the head of the government administration, Natia Mezvrishvili.

It was noted that the new regulations will come into effect on September 10.

"In fact, we are returning to earlier restrictions," Mezvrishvili explained.

According to the latest data published by the Ministry of Health of Georgia, there have been 1,773 registered cases of coronavirus infection in the country. Currently, 390 people are receiving treatment in medical institutions. In total, 1,321 patients have recovered, while 19 have died.
