Video: Son Accidentally Shot at Father, Resulting in His Death

On September 7, a report was received by the police from the "Gavar" medical center about a deceased individual being transported there.

Officers from the Gegharkunik regional police and the Gavar division quickly confirmed the identity of the deceased as 65-year-old Khachik Safoyan. He had died from a gunshot wound.

Investigations revealed that earlier that same day, the man had gone hunting with his son. While getting into their vehicle, the son accidentally discharged a firearm in the direction of his father, resulting in the 65-year-old's death.

The 36-year-old son has been taken into custody by the Gavar police on suspicion. The crime scene inspection revealed two smoothbore hunting rifles.

Materials for further investigation are being prepared.
