Russia Ready to Mediate Between Cyprus and Turkey - Lavrov
Turkey's seismic research activities in the eastern Mediterranean have led to increased tensions in Turkish-Greek relations and a reassessment of the situation in the region. This is reported by Ermenihaber.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow is ready to act as a mediator between Greece and Turkey. He made this announcement during a meeting with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades.
“We are also concerned about the situation in the Mediterranean Sea, and regarding our relations with Turkey, we are ready to support dialogue based on mutual interests and international law,” Lavrov said.
