Armen Sargsyan, Known as 'Sicily' in the Criminal Underworld, Detained in a Beer House

According to Shamshyan.com, on September 7, officers from the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia and the police department of Erebuni conducted a joint operation based on received intelligence, leading to the discovery of Armen Sargsyan, known in the criminal world as 'Sicily', in the Ararat region.

He was found in one of the beer houses located on the road to Zovashen village, where a dispute had broken out prior to the arrival of the NSS and police. If the law enforcement officers had arrived a few minutes later, 'Sicily' might have escaped. On December 19, 2019, he allegedly murdered Arek Simonian in the second alley of Erebuni administrative district using a firearm.

Also involved in the altercation at the beer house was 'Sicily's' protégé, whose name is said to be Kostya, who had previously served as the head of a department in the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia. Armen Sargsyan has now been presented to the investigative department for Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative regions of the Yerevan city investigative committee, from where he will likely be transferred to the Nubarashen prison.
