VIDEO: Spontaneous Protest in Leipzig Ends in Disorder

A spontaneous protest in Leipzig, Germany, on Friday evening turned into disorder, reports the 'Tagesschau' news program's website.

Between 200 and 300 people gathered for the spontaneous demonstration in the Connewitz district of Leipzig. The protesters threw stones at police officers and their vehicles, set trash bins and barriers on fire. The police used tear gas in response. Within an hour, the rioters had calmed down.

According to preliminary reports, eight police officers sustained minor injuries.
