New Data Obtained in Criminal Case Regarding Illegal Drug Circulation

The Investigative Committee of Armenia has reported new data regarding the illegal circulation of drugs in Yerevan's Arabkir administrative district. Information has been gathered concerning the possession and sale of drugs by other individuals.

As part of the investigation, combined investigative and operational-search measures were undertaken, resulting in a search at one of the houses on Khapantsyan Street, owned by two brothers. During this search, various quantities of substances resembling drugs, such as "Heroin," "Methamphetamine," "Opium," "Marijuana," "Cocaine," "Cannabis seeds," and "Acetic Anhydride," were discovered and seized. A large quantity of medications including "Methadone," "Lorazepam," "Tramadol 50 mg," and "Pregabalin" were also confiscated, along with two pistols branded as "DERINGER," an automatic gun of the type "AKSU," two magazines, a pistol marked "ТУЛЬСКИЙ 1895," a grenade, and a pistol labeled "PARMA" loaded with seven rounds, as well as a substantial amount of various types of ammunition.

On September 2, 2020, one of the brothers, born in 1983, was arrested on suspicion of committing criminal acts under Articles 268, Part 3, 235, Part 1, and 273, Part 2, Points 1 and 3 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The investigation is ongoing. Efforts are being made to identify and present other individuals involved in the illegal drug circulation to the judicial authority.

Note: A suspect or accused individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedural law of the Republic of Armenia, with a court judgment that has entered into legal force.
