VIDEO: Large Quantities of Drugs and Weapons Found in a House on Gapanjyan Street, Yerevan

The main department of the Criminal Police's drug trafficking prevention unit received operational information which was acted upon on September 2. This was reported by the Armenian Police.

Participants in the search conducted at one of the houses on Gapanjyan Street in the capital included officers from the Arabkir investigative division, Arabkir criminal investigators, and specialists from the main department of state protection of the police.

Large quantities of drugs and firearms were discovered in the house and yard belonging to two brothers aged 40 and 37. Specifically, the seized items included 0.4 grams of cocaine, 1.5 grams of heroin, 8.4 grams of opium, 5.8 grams of methamphetamine, and 554.8 grams of marijuana-like substances, approximately 1200 grams of methadone tablets, 5 milliliters of a substance resembling acetic anhydride, 29 lorazepam tablets, 38 tramadol tablets, and 15 pregabalin psychoactive pills.

The variety of seized weapons and ammunition was also considerable. The collection included two “Deringer”-type pistols, one Parma pistol, one Nagant pistol, a submachine gun, an RG-D type grenade, and various 333 cartridges.

Judicial chemical and forensic examinations have been appointed. One of the brothers has been arrested, and efforts are underway to locate the other. An investigation is ongoing.
