Video: Operations Suspended at Building No. 1 on Rainisi Street at 22:50 - MES

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) reports that operations were suspended at 22:50 at building No. 1 on Rainisi Street. A firefighting unit from the Rescue Service of Yerevan will maintain duty at the site.

Recall that on August 26 at 07:18, the National Crisis Management Center received a call regarding an explosion caused by a gas leak at building No. 3 on Rainisi Street, resulting in partial collapse of the building.

Five firefighting units, one aerial ladder, two rescue and canine teams from the specialized rescue operations center of the Rescue Forces Directorate, as well as operational teams from the National Crisis Management Center and the Firefighting and Rescue Operations Organization Division, and a psychologist from the Psychological Support Division were dispatched to the scene.

It was found that the explosion occurred in a four-story panel residential building at Rainisi Street No. 1. The fifth entrance where 12 apartments are located was partially collapsed.

Rescuers, using specialized technical tools, evacuated 19 citizens from the collapsed section of the building and adjacent apartments. A canine team is conducting search and rescue operations.
