VIDEO: Doctors are Truly Working to Save His Life, Doctor Provides New Details on Alexei Navalny's Condition

The deputy chief doctor of the emergency hospital No. 1 in Omsk, Anatoly Kalinichenko, where Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny was transported on August 20, has reported on the politician's health status, according to Meduza.io.

"The patient's condition is stable, intensive therapy is ongoing. Several dozen tests have been conducted regarding his blood condition, brain function, and other organs and systems. Treatment is continuing; thank God, we have a specialized center for treating such patients. The doctors are indeed working to save his life," he told reporters.

Moreover, Kalinichenko declined to disclose Navalny's diagnosis or the results of the tests.

Recall that Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny's health deteriorated while returning from Tomsk to Moscow. The plane made an emergency landing in Omsk, and Navalny was taken to the hospital by ambulance on suspicion of poisoning. This was reported on Twitter by his press secretary Kira Yarmysh.

Later, she announced that Navalny is in a coma and his condition is serious. Several media outlets reported that preliminary data suggested that Navalny may have been poisoned with sodium oxybate.

It was also reported that Navalny drank black tea at a café in Tomsk airport, which is currently under internal inspection. The café owner told Interfax that all circumstances would be clarified, and video footage from the cameras would be reviewed. The Tomsk transport police have initiated checks at the airport. Police are guarding the area of the hospital where Navalny is located.
