Video: Empty Couch on Air as Belarusian State TV Channels Join Nationwide Strike
Some employees of the Belarusian National State TV and Radio Company, which unites Belarusian state TV channels and radio stations, have gone on strike and refused to work, according to meduza.io.
Reports indicate that around 100 people gathered outside the company's building at 9 AM, including directors, operators, and former employees who submitted their resignation requests last week.
It is noted that the employees sent a notice about the strike to their director, Ivan Aismont. In their message, the journalists demanded the annulment of the presidential election results, the dismissal of the head of the Central Election Commission, Lydia Yermoshina, an end to the violence against peaceful protesters, the release of political prisoners, and the removal of media censorship. The petition has been signed by 55 employees, whereas the company employs 1,500 people.
