‘Joqovurd’. The Meeting of the ‘My Step’ Faction and the Minister of Education Took Place Yesterday

According to ‘Joqovurd’ newspaper reports, the meeting between the ‘My Step’ faction of the National Assembly and the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Arayik Harutyunyan, finally took place yesterday; however, the minister spoke very little again.

The matter is that the minister brought along Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan to the meeting, who, it can be said, answered the questions of ‘My Step’ faction deputies throughout the meeting.

According to our information, the topics discussed during the meeting included the teaching of the subject ‘History of the Church’ in schools, educational standards, the establishment of councils in schools, existing problems in universities, as well as the deputies trying to clarify when reforms in the education system will finally take place.

Arayik Harutyunyan, it can be said, looked at the deputy minister’s face almost all the time during the questioning, so she could answer the questions.

It should be noted that in the government, when Minister Harutyunyan was supposed to present a report on the work done in the education sector, the discussion followed the same format, and Zhanna Andreasyan answered almost all of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s questions.

Our sources convey that after this meeting, dissatisfaction in the ruling faction deepened against the minister, as the majority there believes that Arayik Harutyunyan has failed the education system due to sluggishness and inadequate work.
