Environmental Damage Amounting to 5,186,910 Drams Reported
The Environmental and Mining Inspection Body of Armenia has presented a report on the activities carried out between July 20 and 24, 2020. During inspections, tours, and the hearings of administrative proceedings conducted by the Environmental and Mining Inspection Body, a total of 26 cases were recorded. Out of these, damages amounting to 5,186,910 AMD were calculated in 19 cases, while fines totaling 1,300,000 AMD were imposed in 7 cases.
Specifically, in the realm of plant world protection, 21 cases were recorded, of which damages amounting to 5,186,910 AMD were calculated in 19 cases, and fines of 200,000 AMD were imposed in 2 cases. In the area of animal world protection, a fine of 70,000 AMD was imposed in 1 recorded case. For the protection of atmospheric air and water, waste disposal, and land use and preservation, fines of 200,000 AMD were imposed in 2 recorded cases. Following 1 inspection, a fine of 750,000 AMD was imposed. For one case of violating the rules and regime for the protection of specially protected natural objects, a fine of 80,000 AMD was imposed. Fourteen cases were sent to the RA Ministry of Nature Protection, totaling a fine of 952,400 AMD. During this period, the state budget received 664,000 AMD.
