Entry to the Republic of Artsakh Made Easier
According to a decree signed yesterday by the President of the Republic of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, the state of emergency declared in the republic on April 12, 2020, has been extended until September 11, inclusive of 22:00.
Artsakh's Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration and Development, Zhiyar Mirzoyan, today signed orders stemming from the decree. According to one of the decisions, entry has been facilitated for individuals without citizenship of the Republic of Artsakh.
Starting today, it is no longer necessary to obtain permission from the Prime Minister to enter, however, it is mandatory to present a negative PCR test result taken no more than 72 hours prior. Children under the age of 6 are exempt from this testing requirement.
Our fellow citizens in the Republic of Armenia must undergo testing at the respective medical facilities in Armenia, as the capacities of Artsakh's only such laboratory are severely limited.
Regarding the conditions for entry and exit for citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, there are no changes, and they remain in effect. This means that to exit the republic, citizens of Artsakh are required to obtain permission from the Prime Minister, and for entry, a negative PCR test result no older than 72 hours or a sample for mandatory testing at the checkpoint.
It is noteworthy that the cost of the PCR test for persons with Artsakh citizenship is partially subsidized by the government, resulting in a cost of 7,000 drams.
In another decision signed by Prime Minister Zhiyar Mirzoyan, ceremonies held in open areas for birthdays, weddings, and engagement parties can now accommodate up to 100 people, up from the previous limit of 60.
It should also be noted that in the decree signed by the President yesterday, the maximum allowable number of participants for public events in closed spaces has been revised. Henceforth, cultural, educational, leisure, festive, and memorial events can be organized for up to 40 people, instead of the previous limit of 20.
