Construction of Gyumri's External Economic Activity Center Has Strategic Importance, Says Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held a consultation meeting to discuss the progress of the construction and further operations of the Gyumri External Economic Activity Center.

Officials from the State Revenue Committee reported that the center is set to fully operate from 2022, with construction work currently underway and a tender announced for the second phase of construction.

It was noted that the center will function on the "one-stop, one-window" principle, aimed at streamlining the export and import processes for businesses.

According to the officials, services from other relevant departments involved in export and import functions will also operate in the mentioned center, meaning that businesses will no longer need to visit various government offices for obtaining licenses and permits, thus saving time and additional resources.

Furthermore, the possibilities for the development of the External Economic Activity Center were discussed, taking into account international experience and other planned future operations.

Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of simplifying export and import procedures, creating favorable conditions for businesses, and reducing the timelines for document issuance. “We must do everything possible to provide good conditions and opportunities for businesses,” stated the Prime Minister, highlighting that the decision to construct the Gyumri External Economic Activity Center holds significant and strategic importance.

The head of government instructed Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan to discuss all potential opportunities in the upcoming days that would contribute to the center's operational development and further create favorable conditions for business.
