Around 200 Belarusian Doctors Participate in Protest in Grodno
In Grodno, Belarus, a protest titled "Doctors Against Violence" is being held, attracting around 200 people. According to RIA Novosti, doctors from all hospitals in the city, as well as university lecturers and students, have gathered near the medical university. The doctors, clad in white lab coats, brought flowers and placards bearing slogans such as "Doctors are with the People", "I dreamed of saving lives, not protecting against OMON", and "Flowers are stronger than bullets".
The doctors insist that they are here to support the ongoing peaceful mass protests across the country against violence. It is noted that the chain of doctors extends about 200 meters long, and new participants are joining the action.
It is worth mentioning that protests in Minsk began on August 9 following the presidential elections, which saw dissatisfaction among citizens leading them to take to the streets to express their grievances. The current President Alexander Lukashenko was declared the winner of the elections.
