Weddings of Up to 60 Guests May Be Held in Enclosed Spaces, Mikaelyan Tells Avinyan
Today in the National Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan was questioned by MP Sasun Mikaelyan. His question specifically pertained to easing restrictions on gatherings. According to the new decision, gatherings can be held with no more than 40 participants.
“The current limitation of 40 people can be increased to 60; why not? People are getting married, there are weddings, there is food and drink, we are a specific people. We will allow 60 people; there are hundreds who have gotten engaged and cannot hold their weddings. We should give them the opportunity to celebrate their weddings. Or in open spaces, as you mentioned, it gets cold in the evenings in the regions; weddings can instead be held in enclosed spaces with 60 guests while maintaining table distances,” Mikaelyan questioned.
Avinyan responded, “Further possible changes will actually depend on the epidemiological situation, and if we maintain a positive trend, the next steps may offer more leniencies than your suggestion. Once we transition to a more relaxed regime, we will have the opportunity to discuss this and evaluate the possibilities.”
