Volunteers Who Received Russian Vaccine Against COVID-19 Speak of Pain and Fever

Two volunteers, who are among the first to test the Russian coronavirus vaccine, have reported experiencing headaches, fever, and body aches after receiving the injection. Their testimonies were published by the media outlet Takie Dela.

According to 24-year-old artist Andrey Volnikov, during the trial, volunteers were divided into two groups. The first group received a one-component vaccine, while the second group received a two-component vaccine. “I was in the first group; we received the injection once, and that was it. I felt poorly on the first day - there was a headache and muscle pain. But this is a common side effect of many vaccines; it is normal,” he stated.

In a similar vein, 37-year-old Anna Kutkina, an auditor and mother to a 12-year-old daughter, expressed that she felt “scared” during the vaccinations. “In the evening, my temperature sharply rose to 38 degrees, my head hurt, and I felt pain in my body,” recalled the Russian woman, emphasizing that “in the end, nothing terrible happened.”

According to the drug's listings published on the state registry website, side effects of the vaccine may also include fever, chills, general malaise, pain at the injection site, swelling, nausea, and decreased appetite. “Some patients may experience allergic reactions, and so on,” the developers of the vaccine warn.
