Some MPs from 'My Step' Discuss the Situation Surrounding Amulsar with Various Officials
Member of the Armenian National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction, Mery Galstyan, wrote on her Facebook page:
“Last week, on August 6 and 7, I had meetings with my parliamentary colleagues Maria Karapetyan, Hamazasp Danielyan, and Sos Avetisyan, where we discussed the Amulsar issue with Minister of Environment Romanos Petrosyan, Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee Arsen Ayvazyan, Head of the Coordinating Office of Inspecting Bodies Arthur Asoyan, and Representative of the Republic of Armenia at the European Court of Human Rights Yeghishe Kirakosyan. We have held similar meetings in the past.
As in previous meetings, we discussed the situation surrounding Amulsar within the scope of each body's authorities, including environmental and subsoil legislation, and the actions taken and future steps for improvement. We emphasized the importance of public access to the ongoing criminal investigation with the Deputy Head of the Investigative Committee, as allowed by the secrecy of the case proceedings.
In response to the inquiries from concerned citizens regarding the developments around Amulsar, we consider it essential to inform that at this stage, we envision our role as MPs through initiating such meetings and closely following the processes. There have been previous meetings with community residents and concerned citizens, and more can be expected.”
