Restrictions on Entry of Foreign Citizens via Air Lifted, Says Tigran Avinyan
The restriction on the entry of foreign citizens via air has been lifted, but the limitation for land borders remains in place. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Crisis Management State Commission Tigran Avinyan during a special session of the National Assembly.
“The possibility of obtaining an entry visa at border crossing points has been temporarily removed for foreign citizens, and they can only arrive in Armenia based on a visa issued at our diplomatic representations or consular offices abroad, or based on an electronic entry visa. This regulation aims to enhance the manageability and predictability of the influx of persons,” said Tigran Avinyan, noting that changes have also been made to the self-isolation procedures for arriving individuals.
He specifically mentioned that according to the preliminary decision, foreigners will also receive free medical treatment. From now on, an individual entering the territory of Armenia, if not hospitalized, can choose either to self-isolate or to undergo an PCR test during the self-isolation period and exit self-isolation based on a negative test result.
