Earthquake in Igdir: Tremors Felt in Armenia

An earthquake recorded on August 12 at 03:29 (Yerevan time) near the Turkey-Iran border has also been felt in Armenia. The Mediterranean Seismological Center reports that the epicenter was located 12 km southeast of Igdir and 48 km southwest of Yerevan. The magnitude at the epicenter was measured at 4.4 (preliminary data suggests intensity of 6 on the Richter scale), with a depth of 2 km. Tremors were also felt in Yerevan.
