Each Subsequent Week, the Daily Number of Reported Cases is Approximately 50 to 100 Lower – Torosyan
As of yesterday, we have confirmed 201 new cases from 1,710 tests conducted, which fits within the same trend we have been discussing for the past few weeks. This was stated by Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan during a government meeting on August 12.
"In other words, each subsequent week the daily number of reported cases is approximately 50 to 100 lower than the cases recorded on that day the previous week. The logic we mention—that we have a real opportunity to reduce these numbers—remains in effect. Consequently, we also have a rather light situation in the hospital system dealing with coronavirus. We have seen a decrease in the numbers of severe and extremely severe patients, which fluctuates around 300, and this declining trend is also being maintained. Patients in intensive care are staying in the units for a long time," the minister said.
According to Torosyan, the overcoming phase continues, and the rules and efforts are yielding results. "Of course, I do not think we should set a goal of approaching zero. Keeping the numbers within the 50-100 range should also be acceptable for us, as reaching zero will be very difficult by merely adhering to the rules."
