34-Year-Old Resident of Myasnikyan Village Arrested on Suspicion of Stabbing Fellow Villager
On August 10, 2020, around 11:40 PM, the Armavir Medical Center received a report regarding a 28-year-old resident of Myasnikyan village who had come in with a stab wound to the abdomen. The individual reported that the injury was sustained in their yard due to falling. This information was provided by the information and public relations department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.
As a result of investigative measures, it was revealed that at around 11:20 PM on the same day, during a dispute over household matters in a plot of land on the right side of the Myasnikyan-Dalarik highway, the alleged perpetrator struck the 28-year-old resident of Myasnikyan with a sharp cutting object, causing severe bodily injury.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Armavir regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia under Article 112, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia (inflicting serious bodily harm intentionally). The 28-year-old resident of Myasnikyan has been recognized as the victim in this case.
As part of the investigation and procedural actions, as well as operational and investigative measures, the 34-year-old fellow villager presented himself voluntarily at the police station in Baghramyan. He was arrested on suspicion of intentionally causing serious harm to the health of his fellow villager.
During the preliminary investigation, investigative actions were conducted, including an examination of the crime scene with the participation of the suspect, during which a folding knife, which was the instrument of the crime, was discovered. Additionally, clothing worn by the victim at the time of the incident, which had traces of what appeared to be blood, was seized, samples were collected, and several individuals were interviewed. The investigation is ongoing.
