73-Year-Old Woman Who Underwent Emergency Surgery Discharged in Improved Condition After COVID-19 Infection

On July 15, a 73-year-old woman in critical condition was transferred from another facility treating COVID-19 to the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center, where she was hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit due to acute gastrointestinal bleeding, bilateral polysegmental pneumonia, hypertension, and several other diagnoses. This was reported by the St. Grigor Lusavorich Medical Center.

During examinations, she was diagnosed with a sigmoid colon blockage and required surgery based on absolute indications, performed urgently. The surgeon was Sergey Mirzoyan.

After receiving appropriate post-operative treatment, the COVID-19 test results were negative three weeks later, and she reported no abdominal complaints upon discharge. The 73-year-old woman is now at home, and her post-operative wound is healing with primary intention.
