55 Residential Houses to Be Constructed in 8 Rural Communities of Shirak Province

The Shirak regional administration has announced the commencement of construction works for residential houses designated for homeless families in rural communities of Shirak Province. Shirak Governor Tigran Petrosyan and the director of the Fuller Center for Housing, Ashot Yeghizaryan, along with sectorial officials from the governor's office, visited the Basen community in the Akhuryan region, where the foundation excavation works for residential houses have started today.

In Basen, 5 residential houses will be constructed. The Martikyan family, which comprises several members, will soon have a safe home with all amenities after a long wait.

“It is very pleasing for us that the homeowners are directly participating in this housing project. They can monitor and be part of the works, which will exclude many issues related to quality and timelines. This program provides an opportunity for homeless families in our rural areas to remain in their native environment and build their homes with state support without being detached from their birthplace. The Shirak regional administration will do everything possible within its authority to eliminate shortcomings during the implementation of this program,” Governor Tigran Petrosyan stated in a conversation with reporters.

In total, 55 residential houses will be constructed across 8 rural communities in the province (Jajur-1, Mayisyan-4, Shirak-3, Marmashen-3, Basen-5, Sarnaghbyur-8, Gusanakugh-3, Jrajzor-28).

The Fuller Center for Housing has already begun the excavation of foundations for 21 of the residential houses and is completing the construction works for 4 half-finished houses with a high level of preparedness (approximately 80%).
