VIDEO. "The resources acting under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense are behind this 'operation'" - Alen Ghulyan

Expert Alen Ghulyan wrote on his Facebook page: "On February 26, a edited video appeared in the Armenian space of social networks, allegedly showing Azerbaijanis walking freely in Yerevan and mocking the national security service while filming. This video became the subject of widespread discussion on social networks. Although many understood that it was prepared by the relevant services of Azerbaijan and injected into our space, nevertheless, some were convinced that the footage was indeed recorded by Azerbaijanis. In short, to some extent, they had achieved their goal. This was even noted in a press release by the National Security Service of Armenia, stating that the unedited version of the video circulating online was created by a woman and that it was published online back in early 2018.

After that, in May, a second video was released featuring audio with a voice we already know, filmed on one of the streets of Yerevan, in which a Russian-speaking Azerbaijani promised to film his next video in Shushi. While they find and edit videos recorded in Shushi that have not spread on the internet and are therefore difficult to discover through search engines, I decided to conduct a little "investigation".

It turned out that the resources behind this "operation" are acting under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense. I am 99% sure that the post-production audio of these videos belongs to a user operating under the alias "Hans Kloss" in Azerbaijan. There isn't much information about this individual (photos, personal data, etc.), leading me to suspect that he is either an active service member from one of the law enforcement agencies coordinating one of the anti-Armenian directions in the media sphere, or a former serviceman. The user is proficient in Russian, and it is evident from the writing and comments that he has military knowledge. I assume he lived in Russia at some point or received military education from one of the military universities in the Russian Federation.

He frequently comments as a military expert without appearing on camera for military programs broadcast on Azerbaijani TV channels. Within the same program, he participates in various recordings, including in military units and on the front lines. His active engagement has started about 3-4 years ago, and currently, he manages at least three Russian-language anti-Armenian pages on social networks, which have quite large audiences. False information about our armed forces is spread through these resources, especially regarding combat and non-combat losses, along with disparaging images and vulgar texts about our fallen soldiers, while actively glorifying the armed forces of Azerbaijan. These pages also publish so-called "exclusive" footage either provided by their Ministry of Defense or obtained from soldiers on the frontline or special forces (video and photos from the April military operations, sniper fire toward our positions, etc.).

I have uploaded the video for sound comparison. The first part was filmed by the user "Hans Kloss" on July 17 of this year, near the village of Aghdam in the Tavush region, and the Russian-language commentary was made by him. The audio recordings for the second and third parts were taken from the edited videos circulated in February and May, while the fourth part contains a segment from an interview given by "Kloss" in July in the Tavush region, where he is filmed from behind. By the way, this is probably the only video where he is visible on camera (at least as of now, I have not found other videos). Besides, the sounds of the videos are very similar, pay attention to the words "в древнейшем", "наидревнейшим" and "находимся".

I am confident that the National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia will confirm through audio-visual expertise that the voices of these videos belong to the same person. I do not think that the Azerbaijanis will stop their "operations"; rather, I am convinced that they will use other people's voices in future edits. We need to remain vigilant and attentive, not to fall into the trap of Azerbaijani propaganda and not to spread their misinformation."
